Sharing God's Gifts

God meets our Budget needs through our giving. 100% of St. Philip’s mission and ministry is funded as we give God’s Tithe and other financial gifts. (The Tithe is the setting aside of one-tenth of one's income for God as is specifically noted in the Bible. Tithing has been the traditional minimum standard of giving for Christians.)

Thank you for supporting the missions and ministries of St. Philip’s through your generous giving.  - Linda Bohlen, Finance Minister

Consecration Sunday- January 28

We’re asking every Church Member and regular Guest to participate in Consecration Sunday by attending Morning Worship on January 28.  And, our “Light The Night” Dinner Celebration @ 5:30 in our Family Life Center.  The dinner will be catered.  We will be entertained by special guests Mark Winter, and the Cornerstone Trio.

On Sunday morning, you will have the opportunity to complete an “Estimate of Giving,” expressing your financial support to St. Philip’s mission and ministry in 2007.  You will make this privately as an act of worship.

We want every member of St. Philip’s to attend, even if they choose not to make a specific commitment.

We have passed the RSVP deadline for the "Light the Night" Dinner Celebration.  If you have not reserved dinner, you may still come and enjoy the entertainment.

How to Give Stocks to St. Philip's

Prayer is the Key

In Our 2005 Capital Campaign to expand the facilities of our campus to serve more effectively in ministry needs, Members and friends of St. Philip's were invited to make give over a three-year period.

In response to Hurricane Katrina, our Church Council acted to give 1% of our Prayer is the Key monies to the United Methodist Committee on Relief to assist the hurricane victims.  Click here to learn more.

AFRICA UNIVERSITY FUND

Transforming Lives, Transforming Africa

Since 1992, Africa University, the only United Methodist degree-granting university in Africa, has served and graduated hundreds of men and women from 20 countries. It is nurtured and funded by United Methodists through the Africa University Fund apportionment. This apportioned fund supports ongoing operations, including building maintenance, utilities, classroom equipment and supplies, faculty and staff salaries, and other operational expenses.

The importance of this apportioned fund is its impact on the lives of students. In a continent torn by war, AIDS, poverty, cyclones, and other natural and human-made hardships, Africa University shines as a beacon of hope and light.

"I hope a new breed of young men and women with vision is going to come out of the institution to champion social change in Africa," said Rutendo Mandunya from Zimbabwe.

Yollande Samba Mavund from the Democratic Republic of Congo adds, "If, in the future, I'll be able to help even one person, I'll do it with happiness and love because of what the church has done for me. Thank you."  [Copyright © United Methodist Communications]
