Steve Buchele “God’s Heart for the Nations” is a book and reflective Bible study that will open up a new understanding of God’s plan and purpose for our lives. Each lesson is followed by a time of meditation and focus on an unreached people group. Materials cost for the study guide: $10. “The Four Agreements” Book and Bible Study
Coming in April to Sacred SPACE, Wednesday nights When a Christ follower reads “The Four Agreements” they see the fingerprints of God’s word throughout its wisdom. These agreements present a Biblical wisdom that, when thoughtfully applied, leads to the freedom and happiness that God desires for all his creations. From the book cover, the agreements are: Be Impeccable With Your Word: Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love. Don’t Take Anything Personally: Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dreams. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering. Don’t Make Assumptions: Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life. Always Do Your Best: Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.
This study combines relevant Bible passages with each agreement to bring to light how applying Biblical wisdom can lead to the life you always wanted.
A Disciple’s Path – new to Methodism or need a refresher course in how to be a follower of Jesus?
A Disciple’s Path is an engaging approach to discipleship from a distinctly Wesleyan perspective. Whether used as an introduction for new members or a renewal course for existing members, the program guides individuals to take the next step in discipleship and become dynamic, engaged followers of Jesus Christ. The study combines a Wesleyan understanding of our growth in God’s love and grace with the time-tested practices of spiritual discipline expressed in the membership vows to uphold the church with our prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.
Participants will develop spiritual practices, discover their unique gifts, and become engaged in ministry that brings transformation in their own lives, the lives of others, and the world. A Companion Reader available is eFormat, and book form.
Wednesday’s at 7pm starting April 10 (as part of Sacred SPACE) Sunday’s at 11am starting April 14 (Sunday School) (this is the same class being taught at two different times) Instructor: Rev. Mary Powell.
